Hooks run commands without asking each time. Read the plugin hooks file on its Flowy page before you enable it, because its hooks merge with your own while the plugin is enabled.
These steps are the pattern for a plugin listed in a marketplace. Each Flowy listing shows the install its own repository documents.
A hook is a command Claude Code runs on its own at a point in its lifecycle, such as a PreToolUse hook before a tool call or a PostToolUse hook after one. A plugin ships its hooks in one file. A hook has no name, so Flowy lists the plugins that ship hooks.
A hook runs with your permissions, so read it before you enable the plugin that carries it.
Install the plugin that ships it. Its hooks file applies while the plugin is enabled and merges with the hooks you already have. Turn the plugin off and its hooks stop.
In hooks/hooks.json at the plugin root. Your own hooks live in your settings files. Both run together when the plugin is enabled.
A hook runs a command on an event, so a bad one can slow or block your work. Read the hooks page of a plugin before you enable it, and disable the plugin to stop its hooks.
A hook has no name, no description and no path of its own, and two matcher blocks can share an event. Inventing an identity for each would be a made-up list, so each plugin gets one hooks page.
By their GitHub stars. Newest uses the date Flowy first published the listing. Paid placements are labelled wherever they appear, and money never changes a star count.
They include SessionStart, UserPromptSubmit, PreToolUse, PostToolUse, Notification, Stop, SubagentStop and PreCompact, among others. The hooks reference on code.claude.com lists every event and what each one can do.
Use a PreToolUse hook that exits with the blocking status, exit code two. Claude Code stops the tool call and shows the hook stderr to Claude as the reason. A hook can also return JSON with a permission decision.
Cursor documents running Claude Code hooks that sit in .claude/settings.json, a third-party setting that is on by default. Flowy has not tested a plugin hooks file there, and installing the plugin is a Claude Code step.
