Use when

Your memory folder is growing, the index is getting long, or facts feel duplicated or stale.

Does

Merges duplicate notes; fixes stale facts (turn "next week" into an actual date).
Prunes dead index entries; keeps `MEMORY.md` scannable (one line per file).
Flags anything that contradicts itself for you to resolve.

Does NOT

Invent or rewrite the *substance* of your notes.
Delete anything load-bearing without surfacing it first.

Output

A cleanup diff: what merged, what got pruned, what needs your call — and the index, shorter and truer than before.

Why it's a separate role
