How it fires

How this agent gets triggered: by you, by Claude, or both.

  • Fires itselfAuto-invocation. Claude auto-loads it when your prompt matches the work.Auto-invocation is when the right skill fires by itself at the right moment, driven by a FLOW.md router and a hook, instead of you invoking it by name. It is the difference between a skill being installed and a skill actually getting used.Read the full definition →

Environment Classification Provenance

Source

  • Repository: https://github.com/mattpocock/skills
  • Pinned commit: `49dd158d1076134a641b33efb035946536778336`.
  • Adapted source: [`skills/engineering/retro/SKILL.md`](https://github.com/mattpocock/skills/blob/49dd158d1076134a641b33efb035946536778336/skills/engineering/retro/SKILL.md).

Adaptations

  • Added environment-failure classification to the existing completed-task capture and bounded review workflow: navigation, automated checks, coding standards, tool economy, no-ops and information access.
  • Retained source-first discovery of existing checks and wiring, mechanical-check versus reviewer-judgment separation, conditional navigation pointers and evidence-preserving tool economy.
  • Scoped categories to the evidenced completed task; they are analysis labels, not new queue verdicts, statuses, fields or command flags.
  • Kept capture privacy, durable evidence locators, deduplication, locking and explicit human approval before any package mutation. Preventive actions are proposals routed through existing review gates, not permission to edit during capture.

Omissions

  • No arbitrary historical-session search, automatic surveillance or repository-wide environment audit.
  • No global steering-file relocation, universal standards filename/line-count policy or assumed upstream reviewer/harness configuration.
  • No automatic check creation, credential acquisition, service connection or access grant.
  • No upstream invocation flags, external skill dependency, installer or agent harness metadata. Tool-output waste alone does not support token/cost savings claims.

Manual resync only

Do not auto-sync. Compare a proposed upstream revision against this exact pin, review each classification and authority/privacy consequence, preserve the MIT notice, and obtain approval through the existing review workflow before adoption. Run authorized Armory validation separately; provenance does not claim behavioral effectiveness.
